HISTORY OF THE FOUNDATION

The Mu Omega Foundation of Delaware Valley Inc. was founded in 1987 to be the charitable arm of Mu Omega chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The founders felt that the creation of a separate entity would greatly enhance Mu Omega’s ability to solicit and invest monies for the purpose of providing scholarship assistance to college-bound seniors in the Philadelphia school systems and to support worthwhile community service projects.

The founders of the Mu Omega Foundation of Delaware Valley, Inc. were firmly committed to the principles of scholarship and uplift. They wanted to ensure that as the charitable arm of Mu Omega chapter, our fraternity would provide our youth the opportunity to pursue the educational and career goals that will equip them with the skills necessary to compete in today’s society. Equally as strong and steadfast were the founders’ resolve to do whatever is necessary to make our community a better place to live and to generally improve the quality of life for the residents.
